With more and more people on the go, cities are getting more crowded, crazy and hectic. How can we restore a sense of order? Zoë Jacobs proposes to clean up the mess the same way we do at home: put our stuff in a closet or cabinet. As the chaos in town is mostly created by people, she designed a ‘Human Cabinet’. This public piece of furniture is the perfect storage place for ourselves. The comforting form offers a safe shelter from the buzz all around. At the same time it creates visual tranquility for everyone else out there. Integrated in walls or as stand alones on squares, these Human Cabinets bring peace and quiet to the city.
