Nick Beens has used standardised 304 metal tubing connections to create a series of modular lamps. With their industrial provenance and clean shapes the ‘304’ lamps are easy to produce, while offering a range of settings and directions. They add a playful touch to increasingly rigid contemporary interiors. The straight pipes, elbows and T-shapes offer different lighting angles. Filter elements give the light an ambient or bright quality, or even turn it into a spotlight. The lamps, which come in a range of powder-coated colours, can be used as stand-alone features or grouped together. Just play around with them!
