Exploring ways to produce individual items with unique characteristics in an industrial process, Job van den Berg has devised ‘MetalWood’. He has forged together a man-made material and a natural one: sheet metal and wood veneer. The resulting imprint of the wood literally creates a design that is one of a kind. Besides creating an appealing texture, the inventive industrial pressing adds strength, character and individuality. Efficiency meets personality. Industry meets nature. By adding uniqueness Job is aiming for greater user attachment to products, so that they will not be thrown away before their time.
